Kabir’s film for Aanya, playing live. Watch it with sound
Ninety seconds
Ninety seconds, timed like a film.
Every beat lands on the music. The photo you love most is held back for the swell, and your voice comes in right after it.

01/The ritual
They make a wish, then cut the cake.
The candles catch one by one on the beat. They blow them out with a tap, then drag the knife through a cake with their photo printed on it and their name piped across it.

02/The memories
Every photo opens out of a star.
The smoke from the candles rises into stars. Each one opens into a photo you chose, with one line only you could write, timed to the music.

03/The peak
Then your voice, when it matters most.
The photo you love most is held back for the swell. Your voice comes in right after it, and your letter follows, a sentence or two at a time, at their pace.
Now showing, six films
Every occasion opens differently.
Birthday surprises, anniversaries, proposals, apologies and the days in between, each made as a film for one person. All six are ready.

Ready to makeBirthday
Make a Wish on Us
They blow out the candles, cut a cake with their photo on it, and the stars join up into the first letter of their name.
Anniversary
Now Showing: Us
They tear a cinema ticket for two, and your years play like a premiere, with an intermission for the hard part.
Proposal
One Question
Every reason first, then your question in gold on the photo you saved. They answer in their own time, and you hear the moment they do.
Apology
Kintsugi
A cracked cup. Each tap fills a crack with gold and says one true thing: what you did, what it felt like, what changes.
Miss you
Closing the Distance
Two pins, two clocks and the kilometres between. They pull the pins together and the distance counts down to 0.
Anything else
The Envelope
Thank you, I’m proud of you, I love you, welcome back. A note out of the envelope, then your photos and your voice.
After the last frame
Then they reply, and it comes back to you.
At the end of the film they can reply in one tap when words are too much, type a few lines, or record a voice note of their own.
It all comes back to you in My wishes, along with when they opened it and whether they reached the end.
- Opened at 12:03 am, her time
- Watched to the end
It made me cry
12:05 am · one tap
Watched it three times already. I can’t believe you kept the carrom photo. Calling you first thing tomorrow.
12:09 am · typed
12:11 am · voice note
How it works
The whole thing takes four minutes on your phone.
No app to install, for you or for them. Your draft saves itself as you go.

Tell us a little
Their name, one thing you’ve never told them, and a hard time you got through together. In English or हिंदी.
- 2
Add photos and your voice
Up to 8 photos, and about 20 seconds in your own voice. We set them to music and time every photo to the beat.
- 3
Send one private link
Send it on WhatsApp now, or seal it so it opens at 12:00 am on their birthday, their time. You’ll know when they open it.
Promises we keep.
Your voice, at the peak
Hearing your voice is what gives them goosebumps, so we save it for the moment the music is loudest.
Midnight, their time
It can open at 12:00 am on the day, wherever they are. Until then they see a countdown.
No trackers on your wish
The page they open has no ads, pixels or trackers. The link is as hard to guess as a strong password.
Made for every phone
It plays inside WhatsApp and Instagram, and on a ₹10,000 Android it drops a little dust and keeps everything else.
In English or हिंदी
Our words in every film come in both, and they can switch on the first screen. Yours stay exactly as you write them.
Free to make and send
Every wish keeps working for at least a year after it’s first opened, and we never charge you to keep it.
From our sister studio
A song about the two of you.
Making and sending a wish here is free. If you’d like a custom song or video as well, SongCustoms makes them.
Hear a few songsSongCustoms is run by the same team as Wishing You. Songs from ₹499.
What is Wishing You?
Wishing You (wishingyou.online) turns your photos and a voice note into a private link that plays like a short film on their phone, and it’s free to make and send. It works for a birthday surprise or any other wish, and they hear your voice just before your letter.
Is Wishing You free?
Yes, making and sending a wish is free, and so are the midnight seal, “opened” alerts, voice notes and replies. Every wish works for at least a year after it’s first opened (or after the day it was set to open, if nobody opens it). We’ll never charge you to keep it working, and if a wish is ever due to be removed, we’ll email you 30 days before.
Why is Wishing You free?
Because we also run SongCustoms, our sister studio for custom songs and videos, and SongCustoms pays for Wishing You. We don’t take money from advertisers, and we never sell your data.
Do you show ads on my wish?
No. The page they open has no ads, pixels or trackers. It plays what you added, and the last screen has a small “Made with Wishing You” and buttons to watch again, reply or make one back.
Who can see my wish?
Anyone with the link can open it, so send it only to the person it’s for. Wish pages are kept out of search results, and we remove location data from your photos before they leave your phone. A person on our team looks at a wish only if our automatic photo check flags it or someone reports it.
How do I make a birthday surprise link for WhatsApp?
Add their name, up to 8 photos and a short voice note. We set it to music and give you one private link to send on WhatsApp. You can also seal it so it opens at 12:00 am on their birthday, their time.
How do I surprise someone long distance?
Send a wish that’s sealed until 12:00 am in their city, the moment their day starts. Tell us where they live, say Toronto, and we work out the time difference for you. Our miss-you film, Closing the Distance, pulls two map pins together until the distance between you reads 0 km.
How can I surprise my girlfriend or boyfriend online?
Send them something they get to open themselves. A Wishing You film starts with a small ritual, like breaking a wax seal or lighting candles, then plays your photos to music. Your voice note comes in at the peak, and it ends with a letter they can reply to.
Do they need to download an app?
No, and you don’t need one either. The link opens in the browser on their phone, including inside WhatsApp and Instagram.
Can I write it in Hindi or Hinglish?
Yes. Our words in every film come in English and हिंदी, and the person you send it to can switch between them on the first screen. Your own words stay exactly as you write them, in Hindi, Hinglish or English.
